The American Textile History Museum provides a narrative chronology of this country, from the perspective of the textile industry, which includes silk, flax, wool, cotton, and many other fibrous materials. Its permanent collection and library feature thousands of books, trade catalogs, costumes, photographs, textile samples, and machines—some of which are hundreds of years old. The Museum resides about 20 miles north of downtown Boston, near North Commons.
